 Europlaster System

a)

Europlaster is an extremely hard and thin plaster veneer primarily for finishing interior architecture. It is a proprietary system designed to be a replacement for paint. It is a water-based copolymer medium consisting of resins, aggregate, binders, pigments, and proprietary additives.  It is flexible, breathable, and water repelling with outstanding adhesion and abrasion resistance and retards efflorescence.

b)

Materials are integrally colored in a three or four step layering system.  High quality paint grade universal colorants are recommended. Iron-oxide pigments may be utilized on exteriors to increase fade resistance. Colors are naturally blended neutral and earth tones. Light to medium values (3 to 5 on the gray scale) are recommended. Colors may be selected from a paint manufacturer, chip or color reference (swatch, tile, etc.)

As specified by Europlaster.

Environmental Conditions

a)

Apply finishes over substrates containing less than 14% moisture.

b)

Apply finishes at minimum 41 deg. F (5 deg. C) ambient temperature for 24 hours before, during, and after application.

c)

Protect from wind exceeding 15mph, from rain, direct sun or other possible damage until they have dried and set.

d)

Ensure areas to be finished are ventilated, air conditioned (as required) and well lit.

e)

To ensure maximum control of color, finish lighting or equivalent is recommended.

f)

General contractor to provide access to electrical power and clean potable water on site.

3.02

Substrates

a)

The Europlaster system is not designed to compensate for surface imperfections.  All substrates are to be clean, dry and free of cracks, dust, plaster dust, loose material, paraffin, releasing agents, pollution buildup, or any foreign matter.  The Europlaster  Company (TEC),  accepts no liability whatsoever for the structural integrity of any substrate system.

b)

For interiors, suitable substrates include plaster, sheetrock, cement and wood. Drywall is to be finished to level 4 or 5 (GA-214-96) to ensure no noticeable tooling marks. Plaster and plaster/cement surfaces to be hand floated flat and true.

c)

Substrates to receive Europlaster are to be provided in accordance with standard practice by work of other sections.  Substrate conditions to be verified by onsite examination in accordance with designated finishing requirements.  A wide range of substrates are compatible.  Some substrates may be subject to special preparation before the work of this section is performed.

3.03

Protection

a)

Cover or mask surfaces adjacent to those receiving finishes to protect work by other sections.

b)

Mark finished or drying areas with signage to avoid damage by work of other sections.

c)

During application, any adjacent surfaces and work areas shall be cleaned of materials resulting from work in this section.

d)

Erect barriers to prevent entry and presence of personnel not performing work of this section.

PART IV

 MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

4.01

Maintenance

Europlaster acknowledges the need for and the value-added of a wall-maintenance program for its customers. Europlaster is a performance product in terms of abrasion resistance, water resistance, washability and reparability. The surface is   flat in sheen (matte) and texturally variegated with a natural feel of color variation.  These characteristics lend the surface to superior maintenance capability.

The maintenance schedule for Europlaster is dependent on the level and severity of use.  A program can be designed that fits each project. All original formulations and system applications are cataloged to ensure successful future repair.

Repairs are essentially unnoticeable.  In some cases lighting conditions and repair location do not guarantee such ability.  If excessive use of an area is anticipated, a Europlaster installation can be designed at the outset to help accommodate future maintenance.
